What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Email marketing

If you choose to subscribe to my emails, you will receive electronic mail to the email address you have provided to me. I ask you to fill in your email address, name, and location. I do not share this information with anyone, it is solely kept to make the emails better for you, the recipients. The current Email Service Provider I use is MailChimp. Their Privacy Policy is here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/. If you have signed up for our email marketing, you can unsubscribe at any time.


When visitors leave comments on the site the website collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

You can contact me using a contact us form here. The information you submit is used to generate a reply you and thus help you with your query. I do not use this information for marketing purposes, it is meant for customer services.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
